Dear customer,

We would like to inform you about the latest results published by the Eurotest Consortium for the Koos iSize car seat and Koos iSize with iPlatform. Both Child Restraint Systems have been rated very highly in the Safety section with scores of 1.4 to 1.8 (Very good – Good).

The Eurotest Consortium as a whole highlights the following points very positively:

Low risk of injury in a head-on and side collision
Good stability in the card
Light seat
Very spacious for the child
Good legroom for the baby
Ease of installation, in terms of fastening the child in and installing the seat in the car
Excellent belt guide system
Low space requirement in the car
Good visibility for the child
Good padding

However, due to the strict criteria for contaminant testing, the overall score has been rated as “poor”.

In relation to the migration of certain chemical elements above the values established by the Eurotest testing protocol, Jané can confirm that the presence of these substances is below the limits established in the European Toy StandardEN71/3:2013+A3:2018 and is not included in the European Regulation on Child Restraint Systems.

The results of some analyses carried out by different certified laboratories and commissioned by Jané, showed slight traces of Naphthalene in the shoulder strap pads of a specific batch of Koos iSize CRS. The batch identified corresponds to the 4585 T34 Jet Black model, which belongs to the 2018 collection.

Although the safety seats in this batch are still completely safe and within European standards, a protocol has been established for us to contact our customers and thus be able to offer a new set of the shoulder strap pads.

How can I check to see if my safety seat needs updating with a new set of shoulder strap pads?
At Jané we have a traceability system with QR codes and product registration numbers. This system means we can quickly and accurately locate any product subject to an update campaign.

To check your Koos iSize safety seat, scan the QR code found on the base of the seat.

If the safety seat is subject to this campaign, you will need to fill in a form and we will get in touch with you. If your seat does not need to be updated, a message will appear stating that the seat is in perfect condition.

If you prefer, you can also check by clicking on the following link ( and entering the numerical code found below the QR in the “product code” field.

It is important to emphasise that not necessarily all the safety seats of this batch present the same values, since this element is very volatile and can disappear simply by coming into contact with air.

All the products from the Jané brand have the Certificate of Approval and comply strictly with the current ECE 44/04 or ECE R129 iSize regulations and, additionally, all the products are constantly monitored by independent laboratories and certified regularly with COP (production checks), by our quality department and our Research and Development Centre: The Jané Crash Test Research Center where high performance tests are carried out in the most extreme conditions.

Even so, we will use this information to continue to improve our products and optimise all those parts and components that can be perfected in order to offer the highest standards of quality.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your cooperation and the trust you have shown in the Jané brand.

Thank you very much. Faithfully,
